Facilities

O.A.S.I.S. clinics are equipped with state of the art machines and exercise equipment used for developing individualized programs tailored to the specific needs of patients.

Genestar
We are proud of our involvement in developing and testing medex's Genestar, a machine that provides constant resistance to strengthen functional movement. Genestar has been used not only by O.A.S.I.S. in the treatment of their patients but by professional sport teams including the BC Lions, New England Patriots, Arizona Cardinals and UCONN Basketball.

Isokinetic Strength Test
This test utilizes a computerized Isokinetic machine to test the strength and endurance tolerances of a muscle group which can indicate the stability and integrity of a joint. The machine gathers data while patients run through a series of movements and resistance levels in a variety of positions. The physiotherapist analyzes the data and provides the results to surgeons to assists with diagnosis.

The Isokinetic machine also allows physiotherapists to compare healthy muscle groups to those that are injured providing important information to gauge a patient’s progress throughout rehabilitation. O.A.S.I.S. is the only clinic in the area that has the isokinetic machine providing this service.

Baltimore Therapeutic Equipment (BTE)
Baltimore Therapeutic Equipment is a computerized work simulator machine that duplicates hundreds of “real world” job functions in a clinical setting in order to measure a patient’s loss of function and progress toward rehabilitation. By simulating activities patients perform at work and at home, therapists can determine with precision accuracy a patient’s strength, endurance, power, and range of motion in performing specific tasks, and can devise a therapy program to improve their ability to perform those tasks. The O.A.S.I.S. clinic in Abbotsford is one of the few clinics in the Lower Mainland that offer this work simulator as a rehabilitation tool.
